Fun Run Dress Up -A lesson in student agency!
So...we forgot it was going to be 'dress up with a theme' for the fun run! Problem- finding something all the children were happy with..as we all had different ideas - no money to be fancy- and it needed to be a theme. So princesses and superheros was not going to work. AS A TEACHER I WAS STUMPED! One student suggested sports- suddenly children started saying they had a soccer shirt, hockey gear, basketball vests..and we had a plan. Some offered to lend items to others which was the best bit!! To appease the princesses we turned them into cheer leaders. So proud of the class - everyone came dressed up the next morning- ready for the fun run!
