Grow Waitaha Digi Awards - Sharing our talents to the wider world

Image
It has been hard work and fun, having the opportunity to share the amazing artistic and digital talents of our Kiriwai (year 3) class to the wider world by entering two of our creations into the Grow Waitaha Canterbury Digi Awards. Now we wait to see if we are through to the finals! So many of the ākonga in my class this year are very inspirational artists. I am envious of their ability to create drawings of landscapes and characters, they see things I do not in visual art. Here is the website with our two entries.  Website with our work The first- a whole class retelling of Oat the Goat - a story from Bullying NZ, which we gained their permission to retell as a green screen movie. The second was a collaboration between our most gifted artists and three animators who took their drawings (on a digital APP - Sketches School) of landscapes and characters, and brought them to life. It is a retell of a pūrākau of the creation of the Banks Peninsula.
